Medical Korea in USA 2026
On October 3, 2026, KAMTOUR convened Medical Korea in USA: Exploring the Future of U.S.–Korea Healthcare Collaboration at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, with the support of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), an affiliated agency of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Republic of Korea, and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea.
The 2026 Symposium built on the cross-border exchange launched at KAMTOUR’s inaugural symposium in the Washington, D.C. area on November 2, 2025, and on the momentum of Dr. Jiyon Hwang’s invited participation at Medical Korea 2026 in Seoul. The invitation-only forum brought together physicians, healthcare executives, researchers, and policy leaders from both nations for an afternoon of addresses, a moderated roundtable, and networking.
Keynote speaker Dr. Charles M. Wiener, President of Johns Hopkins Medicine International, was joined by Paul H. Kim, CEO of Matica Biotechnology; Attorney Han Gyoung Ko of Brighten Law Office; and Harum Jeon of The World Bank and Korea’s National Health Insurance Service. Together they explored where the U.S.–Korea healthcare corridor stands today, where the next decade of opportunity lies in research, digital health, and life-science investment, and how institutions on both sides can turn individual partnerships into a lasting, connected ecosystem.

Medical Korea 2026 - Featured Engagement
KAMTOUR participated as an invited featured presenter at Medical Korea 2026, South Korea’s flagship global healthcare conference, convened by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) under the Republic of Korea Ministry of Health and Welfare, held March 19–22 in Gangnam, Seoul.
Jiyon Hwang, M.D., Board-Certified Physician and President of KAMTOUR, delivered an invited presentation examining the structural drivers of cancer care costs in the United States, contributing to broader discussions on healthcare system sustainability and international collaboration. In parallel with its conference participation, KAMTOUR executed a series of institutional agreements with Korean healthcare organizations during the official Medical Tourism Business Meetings. [Press Release]
